West Virginia Employer Patient Safety Sitter in Buckhannon, West Virginia

Attention Medical Professionals and/or individuals looking to get into the Medical Field! pay rates up to $15.35/hour (local rate)! Day and night shifts available. What is a Patient Sitter? Patient sitters are compassionate and attentive healthcare workers who watch over patients to ensure their safety. A Patient Sitters job is to observe patients in a hospital or nursing home and help other members of the care team monitor patient conditions. Patient sitters usually work under the supervision of trained nurses. A patient sitter may be asked to help complete a variety of checklist tasks while observing patients. For example, they might need to record the patients food and liquid intake, report any changes that occur to senior staff members, and help the patient move in and out of bed if they have mobility concerns. Employees in this role may also help the patients eat or walk around their room and hallways. Patient sitters need to be patient, empathetic, and have excellent interpersonal skills. Patient Sitter Responsibilities: Supervising & watching over patients without distraction. Accompanying mobile patients throughout the facility. Alerting nurses when patients need help or intervention. Providing emotional support and companionship to patients. Assisting patients with basic requests. Refraining from performing medical procedures or any unauthorized actions. Keeping patient information confidential. Adhering to hospital policies and standards. Other duties as assigned Patient Sitter Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent. Strong listening and communication skills. Strong observation ability. Ability to handle emotionally distressing situations. Professional appearance and excellent hygiene. Ability to act calmly and swiftly under pressure.
