Overview

With the area’s only Level II Trauma Center the first Joint Commission certified Primary Stroke Center and the first accredited Chest Pain Center in the Brazos Valley; CHI St. Joseph Health is a leader in critical care and the largest provider of cardiovascular care in the region. As an integrated healthcare system CHI St. Joseph Health includes a comprehensive network of over 100 employed providers including primary care physicians specialists and advanced practice clinicians. The network includes more than 20 ambulatory clinics featuring primary care a freestanding Emergency Room Express Clinics and imaging and diagnostic services.

Responsibilities

Our highly trained cardiac nurses provide specialized care for a variety of cardiac conditions including recovery from coronary artery bypass surgery, valve repair and replacement surgery status post 24 hours ICU stay, heart failure, myocardial infarction, heart arrhythmias, and cardiac post-procedural care.

  • Caring for patients admitted to our heart and vascular unit

  • Collaborating with cardiologists, EKG techs, echo techs, and others

  • Monitoring and interpretation of patient vital signs and cardiac rhythms and communicate any changes indicating a more serious condition

  • You’ll be a trusted educator and resource for your patients’ recovery and prevention of reoccurring issues thanks to the care plans you develop and implement

We are offering a $10,000 sign on bonus for this position.

Qualifications

  • Associate Degree in Nursing

  • Minimum 1 year RN work in PCU, IMCU, and/or Telemetry with experience with cardiac drips

  • RN license in good standing with the Texas Board of Nursing

  • American Heart Association BLS, ACLS, NIH

Pay Range

$28.50 - $43.46 /hour
