Veralto Front-End Developer in Brussels, Belgium

Great opportunity for a Front-End Developer proficient in JavaScript to join a leading international Software Company that is moving key client-server solutions to the Cloud.

This role will suit a Software Engineer at an early career stage who is keen to learn, and looking for stimulating challenges, a professional environment, training & support, and a long-term career.

The Opportunity

Esko is a leading global provider of software solutions that accelerate the go-to-market process of packaged goods for clients around the world, enabling them to produce the best packaging for billions of consumers.

This is a hybrid role with at least 2 days a week in our Ghent office. The Front-End Developer is part of a software engineering team that is on an exciting journey to bring Esko’s leading Automation Workflow software (‘Automation Engine’) to the cloud.

Creating a front-end for a product this complex is not only about defining flows, but also about connecting 3rd party technologies in an easy way, using metadata to fuel automation, and so much more. In this role, a typical day will look like:

  • Work within a global agile software development team using scrum processes

  • Analyse new requirements involving UX/UI and identify technical solutions, create and maintain detailed design and functional specifications, and implement reusable code and libraries accordingly

  • Collaborate with designers, fellow developers and other stakeholders to ensure proper application integration and architectural consistency

  • Actively participate in code reviews and team inspection sessions, ensuring clean code while sharing insights and best practices

  • Create and maintain effective and efficient (automated) test suites; drive software quality by using early defect discovery and removal

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • Master’s degree or (professional) bachelor’s degree with equivalent educational attainment in (applied) computer science / software engineering

  • Thorough knowledge of JavaScript/CSS/HTML, experience with TypeScript and a proficient understanding of one or more JavaScript Application Frameworks, such as React, and style libraries, such as MUI5

  • Ideally experience with using code versioning tools, such as Git

  • Fluent in English. Dutch is helpful, but not critical
