Description

ICF Next is one of the leading integrated communication agencies in Europe, specialising in large-scale campaigns across the European Union. We are looking for a Freelance Project Managers in Brussels and Luxembourg. This role is focused on the Project Management of Communications Projects across the European Union. Preference will be given to candidates with demonstrated PM experience in the Digital Communications Market and those with experience working on EU funded projects.

The Freelance Project Manager roles are full time freelance across a variety of projects and additional positions and locations across the EU may become available.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop communication project briefs and project management approaches and tools to ensure the successful execution of communication initiatives and actions (involving communication strategy, graphic design, social media, media planning, audio-visual production, web, copywriting and/or event management)

  • Allocate resources according to needs, define work packages and timelines, review deliverables, ensure quality control and risk analysis as well as daily management and follow-up. Manage portfolio planning and resources.

  • Create and deliver upon project timelines, monitor project progress. Coordinate project teams, ensure efficient collaboration and communication among team members/experts.

  • Ensure the collection of project data for monitoring purposes and contribute to independent evaluations as needed.

  • Adapt project management tools to the specific project depending on the channels and manage and/or teach others how to manage the tool to track implementation.

  • Present the project to get endorsement and support among internal and external stakeholders.

  • Participate in working groups and progress meetings. Draft meeting minutes, reports and other updates. Report out on progress, risks and potential changes in scope to relevant stakeholders.

  • Risk Management: identify and address potential project risks and challenges, implement mitigation strategies to ensure project success.

  • Quality Assurance: maintain high-quality standards throughout the project lifecycle, adhering to best practices and quality control measures.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Minimum of 2+ years managing communication projects, events and campaigns.

  • Demonstrated experience managing digital communication projects.

  • Experience managing a team of communication experts.

  • Knowledge of the European Union landscape required and demonstrated experience managing EU projects, EU Policy and priorities is a plus.

  • Excellent knowledge of project management techniques and tools such as PM2.

  • Knowledge and experience of risk management, quality assurance processes and planning and time management skills.

  • Expertise in using a variety of communication techniques, tools, and standards.

  • Demonstrated understanding of communication trends and best practices.

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.

  • C2 Level English required.

  • B2 Level French or German required. (Some roles may allow C1 Level English only)

  • Ability to work as a freelancer.

Professional Skills:

  • Strong experience in the analysis and synthesizing of information to partners, client and stakeholders.

  • Demonstrated experience working on projects across EU countries.

  • Strong time management and planning skills.

  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills.

  • Excellent presentation skills and knowledge of relevant tools and software.

  • Ability to train others in the project management techniques and tools used.
