Description If you're looking to build your career in accounting, there's currently a Staff Accountant position through Robert Half that you may want to check out. Located in the Brunswick, Georgia region, the organization offering this long-term contract / temporary opportunity provides rewards to those who dedicate extra effort in the work place. In this role, the Staff Accountant is in charge of preparing monthly and year-end closings, journal entries, fixed asset maintenance, bank reconciliation, and general ledger reconciliation. This position is very involved as it will produce Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. You'll also have responsibility over various aspects of internal reporting during the monthly close. You'll also communicate with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, take part in compliance, and look over schedules for the reporting processes.

How you will make an impact

  • Support implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP

  • Play a role in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation

  • Take part in various department-wide initiatives

  • Maintain fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation

  • Complete month end close, journal entries, without supervision

  • Oversee the creation of monthly balance sheet and income statement analyses for reporting to management

  • Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as needed

  • Produce complex journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll

  • Offer succinct analysis on a wide variety of financial data and communicate it in a clear and concise manner

  • Maintain monthly payment schedules Requirements - Recent and relevant accounting experience

  • ERP system experience

  • Ability to work within spreadsheets and databases

  • Ability and willingness to meet business critical deadlines

  • Ability to prioritize deals and adapt to quick changes while remaining diligent, and to thrive in a dynamic, high pressure environment

  • Strong analytical skills, accuracy and attention to detail

  • High attention to detail and possesses excellent organizational and writing skills

  • Self-starter with efficient time management and organizational skills

  • Comprehensive knowledge of Accounts Payable (AP)

  • Knowledge of customer service

  • Reconciliations experience

  • Working knowledge of spreadsheets and databases

  • Outstanding organizational, written and verbal communication skills required

  • BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
