General Description:

Working directly under the supervision of the Home and Community Based Services Program Manager, position requires working closely with consumers and their families in providing opportunities for enhancing the quality of life. Work includes planning activities to encourage consumers to access community services, training, and other duties as recommended by the consumers Interdisciplinary Team. Work schedule may require variable scheduling based on consumer needs. Services may include transportation, supported home living, respite. The work environment is such as to require sitting, walking, lifting (in excess of 75 pounds), bending, and the full range of physical and mental activities normally associated with care-giving. This position will also require face-to-face contact with consumers, their families and multiple entities in the private and public service agencies. Types and proofreads reports, purchase orders and other related items. Contacts programs statewide to develop available resources for individuals. Maintains files. Use of a Center vehicle to travel within the 7-county area may be required.

Qualifications:

Graduation from a standard senior high school or equivalent is required. Must have good communication skills, both verbal and written. Experience working directly with developmental disabilities individuals is preferred. Must have a valid Texas drivers license and driving record in compliance with CFLR policy. Must have a valid Texas drivers license and driving record to comply with the CFLR policy. If selected for this position, employee must give CFLR authorization to request copy of driving record as well as all required prescreens and background checks. Must be able to pass required staff development training.

The Center for Life Resources prefer applicants who are already living in or willing to move to the 7-county catchment area within 90 days of their hire date. Our catchment area includes the counties of Brown, Eastland, Coleman, Comanche, San Saba, Mills, and McCulluch.
