UTHealth Houston School of Public Health Brownsvilleis expanding its faculty and seeking up to two (2) faculty members (Assistant/Associate Professor level) for tenure-track, 12-month appointments.

Position Key Accountabilities:

Successful candidates are expected to contribute to the school’s teaching, research and service missions by:

  • Complementing and expanding existing foci on community-based, translational research programs.

  • Participating in other research opportunities focusing on diseases prevalent in the local Hispanic population, including infectious diseases, metabolic diseases, and certain cancers.

  • Contributing to the growth of the school's programs in population health, intervention research, implementation science, technological innovations in healthcare delivery, novel approaches to data analytics, genomics, and clinical trial research with a primarily Hispanic population.

Qualifications:

  • Doctoral degrees in public health concentrations such as medicine, biostatistics, epidemiology, translational science, behavioral science, health promotion, and related areas.

  • Strong scholarly credentials, including research publications and an appropriate record of external research funding from diverse sources including federal programs.

Appointment will be at a rank commensurate with academic accomplishments and experience with competitive salaries and startup packages.
