Description

WSI is currently seeking a Welder/Maintenance Technician to join our team in Broussard, LA.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintains a safety & productive workplace

  • Troubleshoots and/or repairs facility, operational and portable equipment as defined by the Company

  • Completes necessary documentation associated with the equipment maintenance program and fabrication processes

  • Control inventory and order shop supplies according to Company procedures

  • Prepares material list based on scale drawings for fabrication or construction projects

  • Proposes recommendations to improve the equipment maintenance program and fabrication processes

  • Fabricates infrastructural equipment to support the Operations Department

  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Fabrication & Maintenance Supervisor

Education and Experience

  • High School diploma, GED

  • Minimum of three (3) years experience in welding, industrial fabrication, construction and or maintenance repairs

TECHNICAL SKILLS

  • Ability to read scale drawings for fabrication and/or construction projects

  • Ability to set up a safe and productive work flow

  • General knowledge of mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems

  • Weld using stick or MIG methods

  • Operates forklift and overhead crane

BEHAVIORAL SKILLS

  • Effectively communicate with coworkers, supervisor, and managers of the Company

  • Coordinate multiple work requests
