Honeywell Principal Chemical Process Engineer in Broomfield, Colorado

Honeywell’s ACST team is seeking an experienced Principal Chemical Process Engineer for our Broomfield, CO, or Golden Valley, MN locations to lead a research and development team in design and fabrication of Liquefaction & Refrigeration (L&R) systems for internal and external customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Understanding Liquefaction & Refrigeration (L&R) technologies and the strengths/weaknesses of different designs and selecting the most appropriate design to meet project requirements.

  • Developing and managing the Technical Scope of Work, Schedule, and Execution Plan based on analysis and interpretation of initial requirements.

  • Creating technical specifications for all equipment and components related to L&R. This includes (but is not limited to) compressors, expanders, cryogenic pumps, liquid vaporizers, heat exchangers, refrigeration systems and valves.

  • Calculating detailed equipment designs and specifications for unit operations such as reactors, heat exchangers, adsorption systems, distillation columns, etc.

  • Providing technical direction, mentoring and guidance to L&R team members.

  • Coordinating with the Project Management Office in the research and development of all technical deliverables during engineering, design, fabrication, and commissioning phases of projects.

  • Assisting in site layouts and necessary documents for procurement, permitting and construction.

Salary Range: $133,000 - $199,000

YOU MUST HAVE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Gas Process Engineering, Physics, Mechanical Engineering, or related field

  • 10+ years of relevant infrastructure and liquefaction or refrigeration experience

  • U.S. Citizenship to obtain and maintain government security clearance

WE VALUE

  • Master’s degree or PhD in Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Gas Process Engineering, Physics, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.

  • Knowledge of industrial systems engineering development and product lifecycle, thermodynamics, gas purification and/or cryogenic fundamentals.

  • Effectively exchange information, instructions, and ideas within own work group and with other cross-functional groups.

  • Ability to partner with a multi-disciplinary design team located in various geographies and to interact directly with suppliers and clients.
