    JOB SUMMARY

    The Residential Aide Coordinates and ensures the overall safety and security of the facility. Coordinates and verifies client movement in the facility in conjunction with other operation staff, while also monitoring the client conduct and overall behavior during tour of duty.

    Pay: $21.64 an hour- approx. $45,000 annual.

    FLSA: Non-exempt. Eligible for overtime.

    Schedule: 4pm-12am Tuesday-Saturday (off Sunday & Monday)

    JOB-RELATED DUTIES – ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

    These duties are essential and specific to the successful implementation of this position.

    The Resident Support Specialist ensures the safety and security of all clients, visitors, staff, and property. This is accomplished by performing the following functions:

  • Maintains visibility to residents by wearing Safety Monitor vest and ID badge and inspects site through regular tours of the property.

  • Screens all clients and visitors to the facility.

  • Enforces and educates clients on CHI, site and DSS policies, regulations, and rules with residents.

  • Reviews video cameras and monitors area consistently.

  • Provides limited crisis intervention and de-escalation to residents, when necessary, until CHI professional staff Case Managers, Program Managers or Director of Emergency Housing can be contacted and/or intervene. Contacts supervisor and/or the proper authorities as needed.

  • Maintains appropriate documentation accurately throughout shift , i.e., turn-over, census, logs, incident reports, case notes, etc.

  • Conducts inspections in accordance with OTDA/DSS standards by physically entering each unit to ensure proper attendance is recorded.

  • Accepts resident referrals and reviews rules and regulations with new arrivals including but not limited to the rule of 2 bags per person upon intake.

  • Submits all internal and external reports in a timely and correct manner as required by funding agencies and/or CHI (logs, notes, incident reports). Maintains logs, office, and site in an orderly fashion.

  • Informs Building Superintendent of work site’s physical condition (i.e. dangerous conditions, possible repair needs, supply needs, etc.).

  • Preps vacant units for new placements.

  • Maintains proper usage of cleaning supplies and inventory.

  • Facilitates and documents evacuation procedures, ( i.e. fire drills) as directed

  • Preform administrative and reception duties at front desk when needed.

  • At the direction of CHI staff, acts as a liaison between the agency and the community at large.

  • Other duties may be assigned by management as needed to ensure the successful operation of the program.

Qualifications

What do I need to apply?

Education and Experience: High School Diploma or GED preferred.

  • Must be willing to work flexible hours, nights and/or weekends and overtime if necessary.

  • Experience: 1-2 years of experience working in related field preferred.

  • First Aid/CPR Certification- and Food Handler’s Certification required or needs to be obtained in first 60 days of employment.

  • F-02 or F80 Fire Safety Coordinator certification, required (or ability to obtain certification within 30 days of employment)

  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proficiency in English required. Multi-lingual and Spanish proficiency prioritized.

  • Reasoning Ability: Ability to prioritize, make appropriate decisions and judgment calls, and perform proper notifications.
