ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure a professional and welcoming atmosphere in reception area;

  • Greet all members and visitors and notify appropriate staff of visitor as needed;

  • Answer incoming phone calls and direct calls to appropriate personnel;

  • Assist in collecting daily meal contributions from members and guests;

  • Keep daily log for members and visitors;

  • Enter participant data into funding source database;

  • Receive and sort packages and other correspondence;

  • Other related duties as required by the Director

    COMPETENCIES

  • Some knowledge of and a genuine concern for the physical, mental and emotional needs of older persons

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite required, with ability to learn data base maintenance

  • Team player

  • Detail oriented

  • Good communication skills

  • Ability to work independently

  • Commitment to organizations mission, vision and values

  • Ability to understand the concepts of institutional and structural racism and bias and their impact on underserved and underrepresented communities

  • Have a commitment to supporting communities who have experienced systemic oppression and bias (e.g. people of color, LGBTQ+ people, immigrants, justice involved persons, etc.)

    EDUCATION EXPERIENCE

    High School graduate or equivalent and 1 year experience in a community senior center or customer service related experience.
