Robert Half Payroll Specialist in Brooklyn, New York

Description We are seeking a Payroll Specialist to join our team in the education industry, based in Brooklyn, New York. This role will involve utilizing a variety of accounting software systems to efficiently manage payroll processes.

Responsibilities:

• Utilize accounting software systems such as ADP - Financial Services, Ceridian, IBM AS/400, and Paylocity to accurately process payroll.

• Administer 401k - RRSP Administration and manage Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR).

• Ensure accurate accounting functions are performed and maintain detailed records of all transactions.

• Utilize the Kronos Timekeeping System for accurate tracking of employee hours.

• Provide timely resolution to any payroll related inquiries and issues.

• Collaborate with team members to streamline payroll processes and improve efficiency.

• Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal laws regarding payroll, accounting, and taxes.

• Continuously stay updated with any changes in the payroll and tax laws.

• Maintain confidentiality of all financial data.

• Perform other related duties as assigned. Requirements

• Proficiency in accounting software systems

• Experience with Paylocity

• Familiarity with Ceridian

• Knowledge of IBM AS/400

• Experience with Kronos Timekeeping System

• Understanding of 401k - RRSP administration

• Proficiency in 'About Time' software

• Ability to handle accounting functions

• Experience with accounts payable (AP)

• Experience with accounts receivable (AR)

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in payroll

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Strong problem-solving skills

• High attention to detail and accuracy

• Ability to handle confidential information responsibly

• Knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll, wage and hour laws, and best practices

• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize work effectively

• Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
