FACULTY VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

New York City College of Technology of the City University of New York (CUNY), a comprehensive college in downtown Brooklyn offering 58 associate and baccalaureate degrees, invites applications for a Lecturer in the Department of Mathematics, anticipated to begin in fall 2024. This is a full-time position leading to a certificate of continuous employment (CCE).

The Mathematics Department offers three degree-programs: an associate degree (AS) in Computer Science, a baccalaureate degree (BS) in Applied Mathematics, and a baccalaureate degree (BS) in Mathematics Education.

This position requires a commitment to quality education for a diverse student body, demonstrated through dedication to both excellence in teaching and service to the department, college, and university. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: student advisement, curriculum development, assessment, reaccreditation, and support of retention and recruitment initiatives.

QUALIFICATIONS

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Mathematics Education, or other related field, and the ability to teach successfully.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master’s degree or higher in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Mathematics Education, or related field is strongly preferred

  • Prior teaching experience at the college level is highly desirable

  • Strong analytical, organizational, and time management skills

COMPENSATION

$69,983- $88,998. Salary commensurate with education and experience.
