Assists with compiling, analyzing, managing, and forecasting financial impacting data related to union labor contracts. Providing financial information and forecasting in preparation of union labor negotiations, related to direct and collateral cost, impacted by terms and conditions. Create and analyzes monthly, quarterly, and annual reports and ensures financial information has been recorded accurately. Reporting to the Vice President Labor Relations and working closely with the Labor Relations team, Finance Department, and the Operations team.

Major Responsibilities

  • Assists with the financial analysis and preparation of upcoming labor contracts, to include all factors such as hourly compensation, all benefits, incentives, holidays and other financially impacting terms and conditions of the labor contract.

  • Develop and manage the production of weekly, monthly, year-to-date and year-end financial reporting, including variance and trend analysis of results to budget, prior year and forecast.

  • Assists in the development of labor contract budgeting/forecasting tools and processes. Includes development and testing of financial models using excel and other financial reporting systems.

  • Provides analytical support to all levels of management across functions such as Human Resources, Operations and Finance, including ad-hoc reporting and problem solving.

  • Ensures data integrity of financial forecasting and reporting, ensuring accuracy and consistency in labor contract cost modeling by location. This includes working closely and collaboratively with the Labor Relations, Operations and Finance teams. Conducting testing and verification of data for accuracy.

  • Financial impacting recommendations are to include incorporating business goals and initiatives, industry and area total compensation wage factors and business demands.

  • Proactively work to identify trends and develop a competitive environment, aimed at attractively and retaining talent. Presenting such findings to leaders and senior management.

  • All other duties as assigned.

Minimum Experience & Skills Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting

  • 3-5 years experience in financial planning and analysis.

  • Extremely proficient in use of MS Excel specifically (among other Office applications)

  • Strong background in financial reporting systems.

  • Experience with financial modeling and forecasting is highly desired.

  • Experience working in a large labor intensive organization, addressing labor union financial impacting contract terms, is highly desired.

  • Ability to work collaboratively, in a partnership approach across departments is essential.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Ability to establish and maintain good relationships with all levels of management.

  • Highly organized, self-motivated and driven, deadline oriented, possess high attention to detail.
