Daktronics Process Technician - Weekend Shift ($4.00/hr shift increment) in Brookings, South Dakota

Do you like technology? Do you like being hands-on and solving problems? How would you like to combine those interests? A Daktronics Process Technician may be the career choice for you! 

  • Schedule will be Friday - Sunday, 6:00am - 6:00pm.   

  • Competitive base pay + $4.00/hour weekend shift differential.    

    The general responsibilities of Process Technician roles are: 

  • Front-line of support for day-to-day production operations. 

  • Respond to escalated production issues, assessment/diagnosis/resolution, escalated to next level process expert and production leadership as needed. 

  • Perform advanced troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of product and equipment, assembly tools, fixtures, and jigs. Assist with documentation of operation setup and maintenance procedures. 

  • Assist in line setup and changeovers, including line/workstation layout, tooling/equipment/fixturing, materials presentation, and refresher training to operators. 

  • Review and respond to Engineering Change Orders (ECOs). Review product Bill of Materials (BOM) and/or drawing to address ECOs. 

  • Assist Manufacturing Engineers and Production Leadership in improving current processes and developing new processes. 

  • May learn various software and programming systems. Programming will include both off-line programming and adjustments on the line. 

  • Participate in team and individual problem-solving activities. 

  • Other tasks assigned as needed to fulfill customer demand and continuously improve. 

    Qualifications

  • Completion of an associate or bachelor’s degree required. Preferred majors include Manufacturing Engineering Technology, Industrial Technology, Industrial Engineering Technology, Robotics, or Electronics Engineering Technology.  

  • Experience programming and operating CNC equipment is preferred.  

  • Ability to learn various software, industrial hardware control, and programming systems. AutoCAD experience is preferred.  

  • Able to use hand tools to work on basic assembly and wiring of tooling and fixtures.   

  • Physical requirements include the ability to:   

  • Distinguish and identify wire and paint colors.  

  • Read fine print with or without the use of corrective lenses.  

  • Work with odors (solder/paint/solvent/manufacturing odor).  

  • Lift and carry heavy (up to 45 lbs.) and/or awkward items.  

  • Stand or sit for the full shift and have full range of motion (including but not limited to bending and lifting) required to perform the job function.  

  • Ability to learn quickly, participate as a member of a team, and work with minimum supervision.  

  • Wear all proper protective equipment as required in work area in accordance with Daktronics Safety Policy and OSHA standards. Items may include the following: safety glasses, safety shoes/boots, hearing protection, and electrostatic discharge wear.  

  • Ability to travel by air and ground. Valid driver’s license and good driving record. Motor vehicle records will be checked.  

  • Fluent in English, written and verbal.  

  • Effectively exercise discretion and independent judgment.  

  • Applicants must be 18 years of age or older.
