SDSU Groundskeeper (Student) in Brookings, South Dakota

Summer Student Position SDSU Location: AES Oak Lake Field Station and NRM Wildlife Research Unit Seasonal Position, either full or part-time available

Student Groundskeeper: The successful applicant will be supervised by the Natural Resource Management Groundskeeper to assist with the maintenance of buildings and grounds at Oak Lake Field Station and the Wildlife Research Unit.

  • Duties will include primarily mowing, weed eating, and mending fences, along with some light building maintenance work
  • Must have a valid drivers license
  • Must be able to work safely with small equipment, e.g., lawn mower, weed whacker, hand tools, and so forth
  • Must be capable of doing physical labor, for example lifting 40-50 pounds

Oak Lake Field Station is located 25 miles northeast of Brookings. The Wildlife Research Unit is located 1 mile north of Brookings on Highway 77. Additionally, there may be the opportunity for duties associated with ecological monitoring, such as cataloging biological specimens, etc., with OLFS faculty and staff.
