The Facilities department supports operations at Daktronics and is responsible for facility upkeep and improvements, material handling, and general machine and tool repair. Our Building Maintenance janitorial staff is responsible for five Daktronics buildings. This position helps to ensure our facilities are properly kept and maintained to support daily operations.

Work Schedule– The primary work hours for this position are 6:00am to 2:30pm, Monday through Friday.

Daily:

  • Empty all wastebaskets and other designated receptacles and dispose of in proper receptacle provided by building. Will pick up trash outside and dispose properly.

  • Spot clean glass doors and partition glass in building entries.

  • Clean and sanitize drinking fountains.

  • Vacuum all carpeting general and executive offices, lobbies, and hallways.

  • Spot clean carpet to remove soiled spots.

  • Dust mop or damp mop resilient tiled floor as needed.

  • Sweep dust mop or damp mop entry floors as needed.

  • Clean factory warehouse aisle ways.

  • Properly clean and dispose of biohazard as needed.

  • Clean and sanitize restroom facilities.

    Monthly:

  • Remove desk chair mats and vacuum underneath.

    General:

  • Properly arrange office furniture in offices upon completion of work.

  • Leave only designated night lights on and check doors.

  • Maintain janitor’s closets in neat and orderly condition.

  • Perform other duties as assigned to keep facilities clean.

  • Become knowledgeable and follow company policies and procedures.

  • Attend Blood Borne Pathogen training and other required training sessions as necessary for position.

  • Regularly and reliable work the scheduled hours. Ability to work overtime when need arises.

  • Wear all proper protective equipment as required in work area in accordance with Daktronics Safety Policy and OSHA standards. Items may include the following safety glasses, safety shoes/boots, hearing protection, electrostatic discharge wear, and others as determined necessary by Daktronics Risk and Safety Department.

    Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.

  • Good communication skills. Fluent in English, written and verbal.

  • Custodial experience preferred or will train.

  • Prefer experience operating various types of custodial equipment or will train.

  • Ability to lift 50 lbs., to push-pull equipment, and to be on foot throughout campus the entire shift.

  • Ability to follow cleaning supply directions and/or warnings.

  • Ability to work with some odors.

  • Able to work with minimum supervision.

  • Ability to successfully participate as a member of a team.

  • Ability to travel by air and ground. Valid driver’s license and good driving record. Motor vehicle records will be checked.

  • Applicants must be 18 years of age or older.
