The Sr. Principal Electrical Engineer – Systems Architect will lead the overall technical design and architecture to fully electrify charger, equipment, and energy generating solutions. Your technical leadership and design decision-making will deliver innovative solutions to enable greater productivity, safety, and sustainability on the jobsite.

You’ll also be DISRUPTIVE through these duties and responsibilities:

  • Architect and design high-performance energy storage systems, including lithium battery systems, and electrical / power / software architectures, considering factors such as power density, efficiency, scalability and cost-effectiveness.

  • Conduct feasibility studies, risk assessments, and technology evaluations to guide product development decisions.

  • Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, system, and software engineers/leaders to integrate components and subsystems into cohesive energy storage solutions.

  • Quickly, effectively, and candidly frame-up and escalate business risks/opportunities directly to the category executive leader.

  • Define your own schedules and work breakdown structures, then independently drive them with speed and agility to meet the business needs.

  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineers and cross-functional team members.

  • Help define and guide rigorous testing procedures to validate system performance, durability, and safety compliance.

  • Stay abreast of industry advancements, emerging technologies, and regulatory standards related to energy storage systems, power generation, and lithium battery technology.

  • Work Collaboratively to maintain a strong awareness of competitive offerings, product strategies, and business climate to shape a best-in-class design strategy.

  • Contribute to new processes and procedures to meet the needs of a rapidly changing portable power market and business.

What TOOLS you’ll bring with you:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.

  • 10+ years of experience in new product development and/or electrical system / platform design.

  • Proven track record of successful design and launch of complex engineering projects.

  • Understanding of lithium battery technology, and analog/digital electrical design.

  • Knowledge of simulation and modeling tools (e.g., MATLAB, Simulink, SPICE) and when to leverage for performance prediction and optimization.

  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to troubleshoot technical challenges, conduct root cause analysis, and implement effective solutions.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams.

  • Flexibility to travel occasionally.

Other TOOLS we prefer you to have:

  • Master’s Degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.

  • Deep understanding of lithium battery technology, test methods, controls, and architectures.

  • Deep understanding of embedded systems and power converter technologies, test methods, controls and architectures.

  • Familiarity with electrical packaging and thermal management concepts.
