The Sr Manager – Cell Technology will contribute individually and lead a team to monitor, inform and direct the future roadmap of our team. The individual will collaborate with engineering teams, product marketing and promising technology companies. You will lead a small team to set the direction of net set of innovations in cells.

You’ll also be DISRUPTIVE through these duties and responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a strategic roadmap for battery cell technology innovation, identifying key areas for disruption and differentiation.

  • Lead the scouting, designing and validating of novel battery cell technologies, focusing on improving power, charge rate and cycle life.

  • Collaborate with engineering, platform, and product teams to integrate design iterations into our products and solutions.

  • Cultivate strategic partnerships with research institutions, universities, and industry partners to leverage external expertise and drive collaborative innovation.

  • Provide mentorship and guidance to a team of battery engineers, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous learning

  • Stay abreast of industry trends, competitor developments, and emerging technologies to inform strategic decision-making and maintain a competitive edge.

What TOOLS you’ll bring with you:

  • Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Material Science, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent

  • 8+ years of experience in cell development, material development with a proven track record for innovation

  • 2+ years of team leadership experience.

  • Deep understanding of battery chemistry, materials science, and electrochemical processes. Experience with lithium-ion, solid-state, or other advanced battery technologies preferred.

  • Ability or strong desire to lead cross-functional teams and drive technology development projects from concept to commercialization.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences

  • Entrepreneurial spirit with a passion for disruptive innovation and a drive to challenge the status quo.

  • Ability to travel up to 10% (domestically and internationally).

Other TOOLS we prefer you to have:

  • Masters or PhD is preferred

  • Knowledge of Manufacturing methods is a benefit

  • Working knowledge of battery, drive, and motor systems

  • Strong strategic and analytical skills, with the ability to identify market opportunities and develop innovative solutions to address customer needs.
