Bond Civil & Utility Construction Inc. Project Engineer, BOND Civil & Utility, Bronx, NY in Bronx, New York

Position Description:

The Project Engineer's primary role is to provide technical support to the Project Manager and/or Project Superintendent to ensure the team receives all pertinent information necessary to construct in a timely manner.

Salary range:$70,000 - $85,000

Core Responsibilities:

  • Assist in tracking all information on the project including shop drawings and submittals, requests for information, subcontracts, and change order requests.
  • Assist in field operations support - daily reporting, monitoring self-perform and subcontractor activities, tracking quantities.
  • Maintain a current set of progress prints and post all drawing changes to the record documents on a weekly basis.
  • Track material deliveries to the site
  • Manage, process, and distribute project documents which include:
    • Contract documents and changes thereto
    • Shop drawings
    • Submittals - Engineer, Subcontractors and Suppliers
    • Coordination Drawings
  • Analyze and check quality/coordination of project documents.
  • Submittals, RFI Log, Shop Drawings
  • Analyze and verify that submittals are in compliance with the contract documents.
  • Assist in implementing QA/QC Program
  • Support Project Manager in analysis and tracking of buyout.
  • Assist in administering safety requirements.
  • Track and record all documents required from Subcontractors to be turned over to the Owner at project completion.
  • Communicate with Architect and Engineer about project-related items.

Qualifications:

  • BS in Engineering or related discipline or equivalent construction work experience
  • Ability to read drawings and specifications.
  • Ability to review shop drawings.
  • Understands approval/tracking process between subcontractors and engineers.
  • Must be detail-oriented, organized, flexible, and able to effectively multitask while working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must have excellent time management and prioritization skills to ensure deadlines are met while providing accurate deliverables.
  • Must have a robust knowledge of document control software and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Power Point, and Outlook

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
