Fedcap Assistant Director of Work Readiness in Bronx, New York

Position Summary

Assist the Director of Vocational Rehabilitation Services in supervising the Work Readiness staff including Supervisors, Instructors, administrative assistants, and participants on a daily basis to ensure proper administration of all services and activities. This Assistant Director would be responsible for the developing and implementing policies and procedures and ensuring compliance with standards and contractual requirements. The Assistant Director of Work Readiness would provide direct oversight of instructional services and liaise with NYC HRA and Fedcap Employment Programs to deliver quality of service to all clients.

Essential Job Functions

  • Assist the Director of VRS in managing all administrative functions and maintain an effective plan of organization for the Vocational Rehabilitation Services Department with explicit and detailed assignment of responsibility and commensurate delegation of authority.

  • Adheres to the department budget and ensures that Vocational Rehabilitation Services operates within guidelines and goals for both revenue and expense budgets. Assists in the preparation of the department budget.

  • Manages and ensures the Department's compliance with the terms and conditions of HRA and other contracts pertaining to the provision of vocational rehabilitation services.

  • Prepares and submits all statistical data and reports required and requested by contract agencies. Prepares all information required for audits.

  • Ensure that staff and program components deliver quality services to facility participants in accordance with overall program objectives.

  • Assist Director of VRS with training and program developments in accordance with responsibilities and accountabilities of staff positions and to facilitate the growth and development of each job function.

  • Assist Director of VRS in performing, reviews, and following through on the curriculum development and standards for all departmental programs and services in response to Fedcap or external agency new program requests, initiatives, or directives.

  • Serve as backup to Director of VRS in their absence.

  • Maintain accurate department billing processes for Work Readiness services and programs

  • Work collaboratively with the Assistant Director Work Readiness, DVE and Case Management to ensure seamless between departments and foster collaboration amongst all VRS staff.

Education and Experience:

  • BA in Vocational Rehabilitation Counseling or other related field. MA preferred.

  • At least 3 years of strong management experience preferably in Vocational Rehabilitation, Work Readiness, Employment Services.

  • OR An equivalent combination of related education and experience.
