State of Massachusetts Supervising Assistant District Attorney - District Court in Brockton, Massachusetts

_Position Title_: Supervising Assistant District Attorney –District Court _STATUS:_ Exempt _Reports To_: Chief of District Courts _Supervises_: District Court _Summary_: There is a Supervising Assistant District Attorney assigned to each of the (4) District Courts in Plymouth County – Brockton, Wareham, Plymouth, and Hingham District, as well as (1) Brockton Juvenile Court. The Supervising Assistant District Attorney is responsible for managing and overseeing the daily operations of the respective court. The Attorney supervises all Assistant District Attorneys, Advocates and Administrative staff assigned to the respective district court. The Attorney is to institute best practices to ensure efficiency and productivity in the respective district court. The Supervising Assistant District Attorney – District Court is an employee of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and serves at the pleasure of the District Attorney. The Supervising Attorney’s position is covered under the provisions of G.L. c. 268B. _Duties and Responsibilities_: * Assigned a district court caseload * Assignment of cases to Assistant District Attorneys * Manage personnel as well as projects and workflow * Implement best practices/protocols as needed in the respective district court * Conduct regular staff meetings with legal and non-legal staff to address progress, problems, concerns, resource issues * Troubleshoot –address problems and/or disputes that arise in respective court relating to personnel and operational issues * Communicate regularly with Chief District Court Prosecutor to discuss personnel and operational issues as well as priorities of the District Attorney * Communicate with Director of Victim /Witness Assistance and Director of Administrative Services to discuss needs, issues, concerns * Assign Assistant District Attorneys to attend SAIN interviews as requested * Other assignments/projects as requested by the District Attorney In addition to these above responsibilities the Supervising Assistant District Attorney – District Court is required: * To be familiar with and to follow the provisions of the Plymouth District Attorney’s Office Personnel Policies * To participate in trainings relevant to Office functions * Collaborate with peers to maximize productivity and produce the highest outcomes * To communicate with or provide timely notification to Office staff, police, and other interested parties, as permitted and/or required by law * To interact in a respectful and professional manner with the public, judicial and law enforcement personnel, and Office staff * To complete work assignments in a timely manner * To complete general administrative duties to include, filing, faxing, photocopying, etc. * Perform any other duties at any jobsite as may from time to time be assigned to her/him by the District Attorney, or the First Assistant District Attorney or other designee of the District Attorney EEO Policy Statement: It is the policy of the Plymouth County District Attorney to provide equal opportunity in employment to all staff and applicants for employment.
