Brockton Hospital Physician Assistant - Orthopedics in Brockton, Massachusetts

Signature Medical Group is currently recruiting an Orthopedic Physician Assistant to work collaboratively with our team of fellowship-trained orthopedic physicians, pa rt of Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center’s Harvard-affiliated physician group to provide technical and clinical support. Working under the supervision of the orthopedic physicians you will provide care to a diverse patient population in an inpatient and outpatient setting.

Responsibilities include:

  • Functioning as first or second assistant in the operating room.

  • Conducting minor procedures as approved by the MA Regulatory Board, (under the direction and supervision of the attending physician); including injections, cast and splint application, fracture reduction and suturing.

  • Complete individual daily rounds on all inpatients and documentation of the medical plan by writing daily notes.

  • Provide routine medical management of inpatient care including ordering of and following up on diagnostic testing to include labs and radiological studies.

  • Performing appropriate history and physical examinations and plan of care on Emergency Department consults and admissions to the Orthopedic service.

  • Working collaboratively with hospitalists and consultants on inpatients.

  • Participate in an Ambulatory Orthopedic practice. This will include, but will not be limited to seeingpatients pre-operatively tocomplete a history and physical and screen any test results.

    Requirements:

  • The Ideal candidate will have 2-5 years ofOrthopedic surgery experience.

  • Must be a graduate of an approved Physician Assistant program in addition to Bachelor’s Degree, Master's preferred.

  • Must have current valid Massachusetts license

  • MA CSR

  • Federal DEA.
