Honeywell Aerospace offers an opportunity for a talented R&D mechanical component scientist to join Advance Technology organization in Brno, Czech Republic. The Advanced Technology organization is responsible for the inception, development, and transition of new technologies into existing or future Honeywell Aerospace product lines, and assisting in the development of new markets, products, or services. The Brno Advanced Technology team consists of more than 150 employees, most of which are highly skilled professionals working on exciting novel aeronautical and space technologies.

We are looking for a R&D mechanical component scientist to augment the Electro-Mechanical Systems group. Your technical function will include Finite Element Analyses of parts and assemblies, Multi-Body Dynamics analyses (MBD) – analytically and in dedicated SW MSC.ADAMS of various systems, such as electro-mechanical actuation and active vibration isolation. You will participate on test definition of functional samples, instrumentation, measurement and evaluation of measurement data. As a

member of cross-functional team, you will work on early stage of technology development, from initial concepts up to the prototypes demonstrated in the relevant environment. This role assumes ability to deal with challenging and often conflicting design requirements in an innovative way. If you enjoy being

Responsibilities

  • Research and analysis of existing solutions in the relevant technical field and analysis of theirapplicability and performance
  • Analyses of designed parts and assemblies using Finite Element Method
  • Capability to self-define the boundary conditions and transform the analyses results into to design recommendation
  • Optimization of relevant parts using Topology Optimization
  • Definition of novel mechanical concepts to overcome conflicting requirements and challenging technical criteria
  • Optimize selected mechanical concepts to demonstrate the best available performance
  • Evaluation of use of cutting-edge materials
  • Elaboration of technical reports from analyses and evaluation of results
  • Ensuring functionality of final design by engineering analyses & calculations
  • Definition of technical specifications for internal team members as well as for external suppliers
  • Participation on definition of tests and acceptance test procedures
  • Participation on prototype tests, processing of measured data and report elaboration
  • Participate on safety & reliability evaluations of electro-mechanical systems
  • Provide technical expertise and support to multiple technology development teams

Qualification

  • M.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering
  • 2 years of experience in relevant position (Ph.D. may be considered as relevant experience if of appropriate field)
  • Good command of English
  • Proficient in usage of mainstream FE pre/post processing SW (Siemens NX or Ansys preferred)
  • Proficient in usage of mainstream FEA software (NX Nastran or Ansys preferred)
  • Proficient in usage of mainstream MBD software (MSC.ADAMS preferred)
