Job Description

Systems Design Engineer

Electron and ion beam microscopes are sophisticated devices that employ charged particle optics, gas chemistries, fine mechanisms and manipulators and other technologies for nanometer-scale imaging and structural modifications of the analyzed samples. One of the key markets, where we provide these instruments is Semiconductor market. Our instruments are constituting large fleets performing automated workflows mainly used for automated TEM sample preparation.

You will be part of a multidisciplinary development team which is launching new products and continuously improving them over their lifecycles.

Your responsibility will be the development of electron microscopes, their integration into fully automated workflows and deployment and support at our Semiconductor customers.

Responsibilities:

  • Participate in a number of New Product Development projects. Chip in to the integration of complex new hardware and software on existing prototype systems.

  • Define and implement test plans for new hardware/software, and document results in emails, reports and presentations in English.

  • Solve integration issues, provide designers with feedback and suggest improvements to existing prototypes.

  • Maintain a fleet of R&D prototype setups in the best possible working condition to facilitate development work, software releases, customer demos etc.

  • Work closely with application specialists, have the knowledge of the customer use case and propose modification of the existing system according to the use case requirements.

  • Communicate frequently with project leaders on progress, technical issues and suggest alternative solutions. Also frequently communicates with project members from other departments to provide them with necessary input.

Requirements:

  • University/higher professional education in a technical direction, certification for electric devices, Co. 50/78 (Vyhláška 50) §6

  • Strong communicative skills (both verbal and written), result-oriented, work in a dynamic environment

  • Self starter, used to taking initiative

  • Enjoys taking responsibility and leading new initiatives

  • Knowledge of specialized methods, techniques and processes is required, gained by 'on the job' experience.

  • Knowledge of Python and statistical data processing is an advantage

  • Fluent in the English language – in both verbal and written forms

  • Ability to occasionally travel regionally and internationally (10%)
