Job Description

Key responsibilities include, but are not exclusively:

  • Working in compliance with legislation and internal procedures

  • Lead Brno EHS Management System in dedicated areas, collaborate on development and maintenance of global processes

  • Manage EHS legislation compliance incl.

  • identify new/changed requirements and drive their fulfillment

  • complete safety and environmental reporting for authorities

  • handle needed EHS permits with authorities

  • Ensure ISO 14001 compliance

  • In collaboration with other subject matter experts lead compliance in different areas

  • Provide responses on EHS issues and actions to requests from authorities, customers, employees

  • Conduct root cause analysis, implementation and validation of corrective actions (e.g. via CAPA)

  • Conduct internal audits, resolve, lead, complete, validate corrective actions

  • Ensure determination of EHS objectives and coordinate their implementation

  • Monitor, report and review EHS performance (metrics, objectives)

  • Check functionality and efficiency of EHS processes (incl. via Gemba, audits, inspections)

  • Coordinate tasks in the area of risk prevention (identification of hazards and evaluation of risks)

  • Provide professional assistance to managers with regard to OHS issues at their respective workplaces

  • Assist managers, process owners in case of new, specific EHS requirements/needs

  • Require resolution of nonconformities directly from the relevant managers

  • Propose and draw up rules, instructions at workplaces, coordinate implementation, check compliance

  • Prepare and perform the comprehensive annual OHS review/inspection

  • Train and mentor various teams

  • Work with management on continuous improvement of EHS program

  • Build, maintain and improve documentation such as EHS procedures, instructions, plans etc.

  • Support ISO and other certification activities

  • Lead projects using effective project management skills

  • Perform other tasks assigned by direct manager

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in EHS fields and confirmed experience (min. 3 years); or combination of experience, education, and training that demonstrates the required skills.

  • Health and safety certification (Czech national certification: OZO in BOZP)

  • Shown results in improving EHS processes

  • Shown ability to lead projects from inception to completion.

  • Understanding of ISO 14001

  • Capable of providing analysis of data that may involve multiple factors and cross-functional areas.

  • PC skills (MS Office applications)

  • Proactive, overall positive personality, able to solve various situations in technical and social areas.

  • Must demonstrate effective communication and be able to work efficiently with cross functional teams on projects including international and multicultural teams.

  • Must demonstrate proficient English - both in speech and writing.

  • Must maintain a valid passport and travel regionally and internationally if needed and be ready to adjust working time to accommodate communication needs with other regions. Must be willing to travel up to 10%.

  • Willing to work in a clean room environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • internal auditor ISO 14001

  • experience with health and safety standards (e.g. ISO 45001)

  • knowledge of MS Access and/or MS Excel
