Job Overview:

The Associate Civil/Structural Designer assist in preparation of detail drawings and deliverables of high technical quality and of consistent presentation ensuring clarity and ease of construction. Gain experience in the following work areas: Design, 2D drafting, 3D drafting and/or model creation. Develop basic technical skills to complete assigned work.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Become fully familiar with Project Scope of Work, specifications, schedule and inter-discipline requirements, including identifying concerns as early as practicable and taking appropriate initiatives to address them

  • Prepares Civil and Structural layouts from data generated by others, in close liaison with Civil and Structural engineers and counterparts from other disciplines

  • Ensure that the work is carried out in accordance with McDermott requirements, Client and Statutory Design Codes, Standards or Procedures with particular focus on Health and Safety Policies

  • Develop 3D Models

  • Provides drafting support as required

Essential Qualifications and Education:

  • High School graduate with a diploma in Civil or Structural disciplines or equivalent experience

  • Entry level to less than 3 years drafting and/or design

Preferred Qualifications and Education:

  • Familiarity with 3D design systems E3D or S3D would be an advantage.

  • Proactive and willing to learn

  • Flexible for business travelling/assignments
