About the Opportunity
Jacobs are offering an exciting opportunity to join our growing team of System Engineering professionals to provide critical skills and capability into the Satellite Communications (SATCOM) domain. Our team is growing fast and we are looking for self-starting, motivated and experienced System Engineers with knowledge of the SE lifecycle as applied to the design, integration and delivery of complex systems.
You will provide system engineering support to our client to enable them to deliver on their SATCOM projects as they progress through various lifecycle stages including approvals, requirement and design, contract delivery and in-service support. This role provides a fantastic career opportunity and chance to work in one of the most exciting domains within the UK technology and communications sector, allowing you to join a growing team and develop your skills and experience under the guidance and mentorship of our senior system engineers.

Reporting directly to the System Engineering Manager, typical activities that you would undertake include:
Management and definition of technical requirements through definition, architecture, integration, and change.
End to end system design activities, including interface definition.
Definition of verification and validation activities and approaches.
Contribute to Engineering Management Plans.
Delivery of high quality, system engineering documents and artefacts in accordance with the contract.
Technical risk management.
Here’s what you’ll need :
Experience working in one or more System Engineering disciplines: Requirements Management, Architecture Definition, System Design, Qualification, Assurance and Release.
Understanding of the end-to-end System Engineering lifecycle (e.g., ISO/IEC/IEEE 15288).
Experience and understanding of military and commercial SATCOM systems is essential.
SATCOM networks experience in one of the following areas is essential: ground, user or space segments.
Good communication skills, both written and oral, and the ability to manage stakeholder relationships.
There will be an expectation for regular attendance at client sites located across the South-West of England.
Currently hold, or be willing and able to apply and obtain, SC clearance.
