Location: Birmingham area (Lichfield), or Bristol, or Manchester area (Cheadle)

Reports to: Sr. Manager, UK&I Cluster Marketing

Contract type: fixed-term (12 months), full-time, hybrid working system

Your Role & Team in a Nutshell

As an Associate Manager, Channel Marketing, you'll collaborate closely with the Manager UK&I Cluster Marketing. Your primary focus will be leading, executing, and refining consumer and trade activation strategies, as well as driving cluster growth plans and product launches for brands like Sharpie, Parker, PaperMate, Elmers and others.

Your responsibilities encompass managing consumer media campaigns, in-store media and activation, PR and events, new product introductions, and the creation of promotional packs and displays.

You'll work alongside the UK&I cluster marketing team to align with overall strategy and budget objectives. Your role also involves cross-functional teamwork and close coordination with sales teams to optimize Joint Business Plans (JBPs) and Line Reviews.

We will help you achieve your goals and develop by providing regular feedback and access to online training courses.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Marketing Activation : Assist in leading all in-market activation efforts such as media, experiential, and sampling. Track, report, and optimize performance. Execute annual brand plan activities for ongoing and major marketing campaigns. Manage relationships with external agencies for campaign execution.

  • Public Relations : Support PR agency with brand and product insights. Monitor and optimize PR plans. Oversee brand partnerships, influencer collaborations, and PR events. Manage ad hoc sample requests and PR-related activities.

  • In-Store Activation : Develop and execute annual customer marketing plans. Manage media, sampling, and activation aligned with promotional calendars. Lead the design and development of in-store materials. Monitor and evaluate in-store performance.

  • Brand Stewardship : Activate brand activities in line with brand identity and guidelines. Support the articulation of the brand's vision for short and long-term success.

  • Cluster Growth Plans : Deliver on cluster objectives by partnering with regional marketing. Utilize POS and consumer/shopper data to develop and optimize activation plans. Track brand metrics and ensure alignment with activation activities.

  • New Product Launch : Support product launches in the cluster. Localize and amplify launch toolkits. Drive new product merchandising activities and activation tactics. Provide input on relevant innovation programs.

  • JBPs Support : Collaborate with sales on Joint Business Plans (JBPs) and Line Reviews. Make product mix recommendations at customer level. Support promotional planning for key channels/customers.

  • Competitor Tracking & Reporting : Regularly audit competitor product launches and activities in the cluster.

  • Budget Management : Manage budget in collaboration with the Marketing Manager. Plan, track, and report on annual budget. Meticulously oversee monthly spending and budget allocations. Manage purchase orders

What You’ll Need

Minimum:

  • University degree with a focus on business, marketing, or related field.

  • Demonstrated experience working with a leading consumer goods company (Channel Marketing, Trade Marketing, Brand Management, Brand Activation or related position)

  • Advanced proficiency in analytical tools and software like MS Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.

  • Familiarity with syndicated data sources like Nielsen and Circana, as well as space management principles and software.

  • Fluent English (written & spoken)

  • Willingness to travel 10-20% of the time.
