DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Receive education from therapist on functional mobility program with residents

  • Ambulation

  • LE exercise

  • UE exercise

  • NuStep

  • Omnicycle

  • Log visits in FMP Binder

  • Occasionally pulled to the floor as CNA.

  • Occasionally pulled to be rehab tech transporter.

  • Assists in direct therapy service provision by carrying out delegated, selected, skilled tasks under the supervision of the therapist and where allowed by law, the assistant.

  • Assists with individual/supervised/group programs as assigned and under the direction and supervision of the therapist and/or assistant.

  • Carries out defined Rehabilitation Department duties on a regular basis, including: housekeeping and maintenance tasks; filing, billing, data entry, answering phones, and other clerical functions or department duties as needed; wheelchair and equipment inventory; stocking and maintenance.

  • Under direct supervision of a therapist or assistant, a technician may provide or assist in the productive operation of a therapy treatment session.

  • Provides/assists in the transportation of patients/residents to therapy.

  • Responsible for the clean and safe maintenance of the clinical environment and for assigned equipment.

  • Oversees maintenance of equipment in accordance with infection control safety guidelines.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned by supervisor.

  • Participates in quality improvement activities as assigned by the Program Manager.

  • Responsible for service and operational excellence of all assigned activities to ensure the delivery of quality services and/or outcomes

SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS:

  • Demonstrates effective English verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to function effectively in multi-faceted systems and to interact effectively with all levels to staff and customers.

  • Demonstrates good organizational and interpersonal skills.

  • Demonstrates ability to perform basis math skills (i.e., add, subtract, multiply and divide).

  • Demonstrate ability to use hand tools (i.e., use of screwdriver, wrench, and pliers).

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Current certification as a CNA in Connecticut.

  • One year experience in a health care setting preferred.

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
