Description

Our client, a distribution organization, is seeking to hire an Accounting Manager. The individual in the role of Accounting Manager is a crucial member of our company. Key responsibilities include management of many elements of our accounting operations. The ideal candidate is a well-driven, detail-attentive individual with exceptional leadership and communication abilities. The role involves handling day-to-day accounting tasks, ensuring financial reports are accurate and timely, and offering financial insights that aid business decisions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage daily accounting operations, including payables, receivables, inventory, bank reconciliations, and general ledger entries.

  • Engage directly in inventory valuation, price management, and training sales representatives on system utilization.

  • Preparation and submission of state sales tax returns.

  • Generate monthly financial statements like balance sheets, income statements, and sales reports.

  • Prepare financial reports for income tax and property tax returns, filed by an external CPA.

  • Lead physical inventory process bi-yearly in all locations.

  • Guarantee compliance with all pertinent accounting standards.

  • Contribute to the audit process as required.

  • Analyze financial data to identify trends or irregularities, and opportunities for improvement.

  • Maintain and enhance internal controls for the assurance of precise and integral financial records.

  • Implement and maintain substantial internal controls over cash, inventory, and assets.

  • Maintaining accounting systems and software for better performance.

  • Ensuring control within accounting systems.

    Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.

  • Over 10 years of accounting experience, 3 of which in a supervisory role.

  • Firm grasp of GAAP and accounting concepts.

  • Experience with ERP systems and accounting software.

  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.

  • Good communication and people skills.

  • Attention to detail and high accuracy level.

  • Ability to function independently and as part of a team.

  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

  • The role requires your physical presence at our Brisbane, CA location.

Preferred:

  • Prior experience in the distribution industry.

  • Knowledge of MAS/Sage system.

  • Holding a CPA or CMA certification.

  • Experience with accounting for multiple locations.
