Job Description Summary

At Avio Aero, a GE Aerospace Company, we’ve been reimagining the power of flight for more than 100 years. We are specialized in the design, production and maintenance of components and systems for both the civil and military aviation.

The operational data analyst will use mathematical modelling, simulation, data science and other quantitative methods to improve business processes and provide insights for better decision making. The analyst will bring new ideas, diverse perspective and will be able to deep dive into problems to find the root cause and propose solutions.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities

  • Collect and analyze data, develop statistical models, and use optimization or other quantitative methods to solve problems in the following areas:

  • Engine Life Cycle Costs and maintenance processes

  • Spare parts Forecasting

  • Fleet management

  • Health Monitoring systems

  • Risk assessment of analytics models

  • Test hypotheses using data

  • Coding development for engine maintenance processes simulation

  • Define relevant KPIs

  • Execute simulations using in-house software

  • Analyze simulation results and provide insights and recommendations

  • Collaborate with Fleet Modeling Analysts’ Team to support Forecasting activities and to improve internal processes

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Master’s degree in computer science, mathematics, physics, engineering from an accredited university

  • Proven experience in similar role

  • Able to translate business questions into numerical problems and solve them using data and quantitative methods

  • Programming skills (Python, R or similar)

  • Problem solving skills and analytical mindset

  • Good knowledge of statistics and probability

  • Ability to plot, summarize and analyze data

  • Good English and Italian language knowledge, both written and oral

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Available for job travelling

  • Work Visa, in accordance with local regulation, is required

Desired Characteristics

  • Experience in cost and value engineering

  • Interest in management of aeronautical products in-service
