Responsibilities

Responsible for greeting visitors, receiving telephone calls at the main Hospital switchboard and

routing calls to the appropriate department.

  • Operate multi-line telephone switchboard station, answer calls and route to appropriate personnel and/or departments. Take/route message when person is not available.

  • Greet visitors, vendors and patients; determine their needs and route to appropriate area.

  • Provide information to callers and/or visitors or direct to proper area.

  • Receive, sort and distribute mail.

  • Perform typing, and/or filing duties as assigned.

  • Participate in peer review process as required.

  • Train and orientate new associates as required.

  • Act courteously toward patients, visitors, co-workers and others.

  • Respond to the needs of patients, co-workers and all other interested parties in a timely manner.

  • Treat patients, visitors, co-workers and the public in a respectful manner at all times.

  • Attend required in-service training sessions and staff meetings.

  • Maintain a current level of knowledge regarding the field.

  • Maintain a safe and clean environment.

  • Comply with all infection control and safety policies/procedures.

  • Comply with regulatory agencies.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Specific Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Demonstrate proficiency in operation of basic office machines.

  • Pleasant telephone mannerisms.

  • Interpersonal skills necessary to deal effectively with associates, patients and families.

  • Physical ability, with or without accommodation, to finger, grasp, kneel, lift up to 20 pounds, pull, push, reach and conduct repetitive movement.

  • Sensory and communicative skills, with or without accommodation, to feel, hear, see and speak.

Requirements

Education:

  • High School diploma or equivalent is required.

Work Experience:

  • Previous work experience in a business setting and/or greeting the public required.

Additional Preferences

  • Previous experience in behavioral health or SUD work preferred but not required.

  • Good patient facing manners and etiquette.
