Atlantic Health System Medical Office Associate I in Bridgewater, New Jersey

Accountabilities:

  • Phone Coverage: Answer, handle, phone calls in a timely and efficient manner. Utilize appropriate telephone etiquette.

  • Scheduling: Using general scheduling guidelines appropriately schedule patient appointments selecting appropriate visit type/length of visit. May be required to schedule meetings for physicians.

  • Registration: Greets patient promptly upon arrival to practice. Accurately collects and documents time-of-service payments. Verifies/collects: demographics, emergency contact information, and insurance information. Correctly registers patients in system, including registration paperwork.

  • EMR: Accurately enters information into EMR. Uses EMR for prescriptions, phone notes, referrals, outreach, check-out, etc.

  • Communication: Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills; knowledge of how to assist patients in a timely manner with concerns and/or complaints

Education:

  • HS Diploma or GED required

Qualifications/Requirements:

Prior administrative experience in a physician practice, working knowledge of computers, medical terminology, insurance, and Electronic Medical Records (EMR) strongly preferred

Demonstrated interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills essential

Bachelor's Degree preferred
