Description:

The Associate Director, New Product Launch will develop marketing strategies for the new product injectable portfolio, have overall product management responsibility for assigned product portfolio and work closely with the portfolio team, sales team, contracts group, supply chain management and other cross-functional departments, to drive business growth and achieve both revenue and market share targets for new products.

Essential Functions:

  • Evaluate potential new product development opportunities and products to determine market fit and potential, employing market research, customer round tables and other market evaluation tools. Analyze external environment, market trends, in preparation for launch including analysis of pharmacy operations and opportunities for improvement via presentations or formulations. Coordinate new product prioritization, pre-launch and launch activities, organize and run key pre-launch meetings. Lead the development and execution of commercial launch strategies including pricing, forecasting and customer offers along with sales team to ensure prioritization and successful launch. Develop and implement generic injectable product strategies & product promotion, have product management responsibility for both assigned in line products and new product launches. Develop new product forecasts, both volume and financial, for assigned new products to enable evaluation of potential opportunity as well as production planning.

  • Review on a regular basis product pricing versus market pricing and recent price changes; make changes to the pricing grid and specific product prices as required; work with various groups to review and agree on new price. Responsible for developing the financial forecast of the new product portfolio for the annual budget and quarterly estimate process. Monitor product performance trend versus budget and estimate, provide insight and comments on the variances, and proactively drive new product launch performance. Analyze external environment, market trends, and customer behavior to guide demand planning and provide inputs on supply planning. Utilize market research to obtain customer perceptions and pharmacy needs for product development opportunities.

  • Utilize the pharmacy advisory board for product development strategy, new product launch strategy. Gain external insight on current market trends and future direction of hospital pharmacy. Support analytical platforms for sales and marketing reporting, while tracking and assessing sales performance, market intelligence and define potential opportunities.
