Job Title: Electrical Engineer

Job Description

As an Electrical Engineer, you will assemble, test, and troubleshoot motor control devices, switch panels, transformers, generator windings, solenoids, hydraulic, pneumatic, and other electrical equipment and systems. You will modify electrical systems to correct functional deviations and must possess knowledge of and the ability to program and troubleshoot PLCs. You will diagnose the cause of electrical or mechanical malfunctions or failures of operational equipment and perform preventative and corrective maintenance. Additionally, you will develop wiring diagrams, layout drawings, and engineering specifications for system or equipment modifications or expansions, and direct personnel performing routine installation and maintenance duties. Planning, directing, and recording periodic electrical testing, and recommending or initiating modification or replacement of equipment that fails to meet acceptable operating standards will also be key responsibilities. You will oversee new production installations and projects, identify potential areas of product and process improvement, and recommend and assist with the development of appropriate solutions. Furthermore, you will be involved in the development of new methods to improve product quality and automation.

Hard Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.

  • 2-5 years of experience with AC and DC motor drive systems.

  • Knowledge of power distribution systems, 480V to 25Kv.

  • Understanding of NFPA 70E and OSHA requirements.

  • Process control and automation experience.

  • Fluent in AutoCad. 2 to 5 years of experience with AutoCad required.

  • Experience in PLCs, HMI, SCADA and networking.

  • Proven ability to identify, assess and solve problems.

  • Must be able to travel within western PA and surrounding area to perform field work and service customers.

  • Local travel within the Greater Pittsburgh metro area will be frequent.

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position

Work Environment

On site will split time between cubicle environment and the shop. Shop is small and quiet. Travel required for commissioning work - most is in Western PA so would be just day travel. Occasionally would be overnight but just 1 day.
