WestRock Company Maintenance Supervisor in Bridgeview, Illinois
Job Summary:
The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for scheduling, performing and documenting preventative maintenance procedures to accomplish maximum plant and production
equipment uptime at the lowest cost. Responsibilities also include providing direct supervision to service and maintenance technicians, overseeing equipment line set-ups, service and repairs.
Major Job Responsibilities:
Business Excellence
• Assist and provide direction to craftsmen with equipment troubleshooting to mitigate downtime
• Monitor and approve inventory orders to control storeroom spend according to planned budget
• Ensure compliance and proper use of parts and equipment according to preferred maintenance practices
• Oversee craftsmen’s compliance with corporate, division, plant safety and environmental rules and procedures
• Utilize J.D. Edwards CMMS to lead craftsmen in reliability efforts of precision, predictive, and preventive maintenance for annual budget planning
• Manage all parts and tool inventories to ensure necessary repairs are completed within minimal equipment downtime
• Schedule all work through job priority and equipment availability to ensure all work is completed in a timely manner
• Lead development and implementation of continuous process improvement of reliability plans in the plant
• Demonstrate ownership of business and management goals by effectively leading craftsmen to align on objectives
• Lead safety efforts by identifying high-risk situations, conducting safety meetings, and coordinating maintenance related safety activities
People and Culture
• Provide leadership and coaching in safety, training, and work allocation to uphold the standards of maximum safety for all maintenance employees
• Collaborate with operations and mechanical leaders to plan, schedule and execute daily and break-in work and to increase measured reliability metrics
• Work cross-divisionally with operations and maintenance to enable efficiency and consistency for plant operations
• Support plant functions with technical expertise and support craftsmen with skill development

Technical Skills:
• JDE or similar CMMS systems
• Microsoft Office - Excel, Outlook, Productivity Suite
• Working knowledge of maintenance techniques and equipment (i.e. pumps, valves, motors,
gear boxes)

To perform the duties of the job, this role requires:
• Occasionally ascending/descending ladders taller than 10 feet tall
• Occasionally working atop of elevated surfaces for 10-30 minutes at a time
• Occasionally working in spaces up to five feet wide for 10-30 minutes at a time
• Occasionally positioning oneself low to the ground in a crouching position for more than 10 minutes at a time
• Occasionally positioning oneself low to the ground in a stooping position for more than 10 minutes at a time
• Occasionally positioning oneself low to the ground in a kneeling position for 5-15 minutes at a time

Work Environment:
• Frequently works outdoors in natural environmental conditions (both hot and cold)
• Frequently works indoors in an environment that is not climate controlled and has high temperatures

• The role is occasionally sedentary, which entails sitting or being stationary

Experience:
• Required: 3 to 5 years of experience in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or related field
• Preferred: Supervisory or Management experience
Education:
• Required: 2-year technical degree in a Maintenance related discipline
• Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
• Preferred: OSHA Certification
