We are seeking an experienced, motivated rentals depot manager for our Chicago, IL location to plan and execute on innovative solutions for customers across a large demographic area.

OPERATIONS:

  • Establishes, assigns, and adjusts work methods and procedures to meet schedules using knowledge of capacities and capabilities of depot personnel

  • Insures technician’s daily activities are scheduled

  • Performs regular depot audits to ensure quality equipment repair and testing. Communicate with

  • Technicians regarding improvements or areas of concern

  • Oversite and management to ensure timely and accurate depot purchasing, booking, invoicing, and collections process.

  • Financial responsibilities include collecting quotes from vendors for parts or repair options and communication with Regional Leadership concerning “Best Fix Options.”

  • Ensures budgeting guidelines are met; prioritizes expenditures to stay within budget.

  • Assist sales department in selection and application of proper equipment and accessories for complex rentals.

  • Provides technical support to the sales department, both at the depot and job site visits.

  • Engages directly with external customers and vendors when a conflict or issue occurs.

  • Coordinates with suppliers, contractors, engineers, and others concerning equipment operations or maintenance

  • Initiates measures to improve methods, equipment performance, and quality of work.

  • Inspects work in process to ensure its completion within allotted time limits and for acceptable quality standards

  • Conducts formal operations meetings regularly

  • Ensures fleet readiness, accessories, and spare parts inventories are at acceptable levels and that equipment fleet, accessories are accurate and up to date in the systems.

  • Reviews all written labor documents regularly.

  • Directs and guides the lead service techs to prioritize labor hours on a daily and weekly basis

SALES:

  • Manage the sales function, ensuring strong customer relationships are established and maintained while also driving employees to achieve business goals

  • Promote team selling and expansion of existing relationships across divisions and/or geographic areas

  • Coordinate engineering and sales support activities to facilitate offering and supporting quality products and services

  • Develop an environment to create and sustain a highly engaged team

  • Review estimates to ensure accuracy and appropriate method to meet company and customer objectives

  • Assist employees in determining margins, identifying resources, and assessing future potential business; participate in selling to large/key accounts as needed

  • Network with areas, regions, and corporate headquarters to increase knowledge of offerings and creating opportunities for employees to do the same

  • Provide input for best practice work and encourage employees to incorporate new ideas into projects

  • Develop sales forecast and provide input to budget

  • Identify new market opportunities

  • Participate in the development of long-range sales planning and growth strategies

Basic Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • 5+ years’ experience in an industrial, or manufacturing or Construction environment

  • 3+ years of Management experience

  • A valid driver’s license.

  • Occasional travel

Preferred Requirements:

  • BA/BS in business or a degree from a technical college preferred.

  • Rental Management experience

  • Interface with clients on a constant basis in a highly professional manner

  • Superior follow-up and follow-through skills
