At Danone, manufacturing the best products and supplying them to meet demand is a key driver for our plant teams. We have an opening for a Maintenance Leader based in Bridgeton, NJ.

The Maintenance Leader is responsible for the equipment maintenance plan and breakdown analysis execution. The role of the Maintenance Leader is to champion equipment reliability and performance.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:

    Review and prioritize work orders and notifications within 24 hours of generation
  1. Ensure the work order backlog is current, sorted for reporting
  2. Lead the review of the previous job completion results, other maintenance activities and today's plan in the Daily Meeting. Plans should be adjusted accordingly based upon scheduled work, scheduled work completion, and break in work
  3. Actively support and coordinate the planned stop, incorporating work orders and maintenance tasks into the Plan
  4. Lead the scheduling of maintenance work for the next week
  5. Lead the scheduling of maintenance work to schedule maintenance work for the next month as dictated by the annual maintenance plan and previously identified work
  6. Lead optimization with Line Leader/Process Engineer of startup and shutdown of line and major maintenance interventions
  7. Ensure the revision and updating of "Maintenance Technical Documentation" occurs as necessary
  8. Create One Point Lessons (OPL) and train and qualify line team in maintenance activities
  9. Develop and update annual maintenance plan and calendar
  10. Ensure maintenance indicator results & in process measures are tracked and kept current
  11. Ensure results of maintenance Key Performance Indicators (KPI) and in process measures are used to assess the progress of the Maintenance Planning & Scheduling (MP&S) system and to determine equipment reliability. Results are shared with the department leadership in the monthly meeting.
  12. Monitor the health of Preventative Maintenance (PM), Daily Management System (DMS), and recommend corrective action with line team: Breakdown Elimination (BDE), MP&S, support Autonomous Maintenance (AM), Clean Inspect and Lubricate (CIL), Centerline (CL), Defect Handling (DH), workshop and facilities, lubrication, maintenance costs, parts usage, and life
  13. Develop improvement plans though the tracking of maintenance indicators & in process measures
  14. Ensures all equipment design change proposals (corrective maintenance), add/delete/modify work follows the Change Management (CM) procedures
  15. Confirm maintenance technical documentation and equipment drawings and schematics are complete, accurate, easy to find and easy to use.
  16. Collaborate with the storeroom in order to identify obsolete parts, off quality parts, ideal in stock numbers, required delivery time of parts, etc.
  17. Provides feedback to design on any new equipment or line speed changes
  18. Participate in vendor acceptance testing or other project work on new products or equipment
  19. Be a member of the PM pillar team as required and own a site PM system as required
  20. Serve as a subject matter expert that is called upon to support the team down the IWS path including coaching and developing other maintenance leaders both in the plant and within the network
  21. Deliver on SQCDMN daily/weekly/monthly/yearly goals and objectives through individual and team efforts
  22. Ensure adherence to safety standards and regulations (WISE) to ensure a safe working environment
About You

Education and Experience

  • 4-year engineering degree or equivalent preferred
  • Or 3-5 years manufacturing experience with demonstrated technical aptitude and leadership

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Fundamental knowledge of maintenance planning and scheduling systems
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience troubleshooting electrical, electronic, mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Fundamental skills in influencing and persuasion
  • Strong interpersonal skills associated with developing trusting relationships
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and SAP
  • Ability to work in a fluid environment
  • Ability to identify problems, draw conclusions, and make recommended solutions
  • Ability to be self-directed with little supervision
  • Ability to adjust schedule to support 24/7 Manufacturing Operation, may include working overtime, graveyard shift and/or weekends as needed.
