SkillBridge Manufacturing Technician Intern

Position Overview

At Aurora Flight Sciences, we design, build, and fly advanced aircraft and enabling technologies from concept to reality. We are searching for a talented and self-motivated SkillBridge Manufacturing Technician Intern to help us create the future of flight. Responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following:

Responsibilities

The SkillBridge Manufacturing Technician program will introduce interns to multiple technician roles and operations throughout the composite manufacturing process. These responsibilities will include time working in the composite lay-up cleanroom, assembly cells, paint areas, and trim areas. This position provides the intern with an in-depth visualization and understanding of aerospace manufacturing processes and procedures, while assisting applicable technicians with their daily duties.

Responsibilities:

  • Participate in classroom learning and hands-on training while rotating through composite lay-up, trim, paint, and assembly work cells.

  • Learn processes and workflow procedures of composite manufacturing operations while working alongside technicians, engineers, and production control.

  • Review and understand work instructions and various tools, including hand tools, mold tools, milling fixtures, drills, rivet guns, and mixing tools.

  • Learn the production and material control processes and workflow, assist with issuance of material, and shipping and receiving tasks.

    Minimum Requirements

  • Must be an active-duty service member authorized to participate in a DoD SkillBridge program.

    Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment and wear proper PPE.

  • Lift and transport objects up to 35 pounds; consistently stand, stoop, crawl, bend, crouch, climb, and kneel.
