Nurse Aide in Training

Summary Description:

Completion of the 8-hour online training course through ACHA/NCAL required. Temp Nurse license

Essential Job Functions:

  • Activities of Daily Living

  • Bathing

  • Oral Care

  • Grooming – Shaving and Nail Care

  • Dressing and Undressing

  • Infection Control and Prevention

  • Follow all established safety policies and procedures when performing daily tasks

  • Follow all established Infection Control and Standard Precaution policies and procedures when performing daily tasks

  • Follow established guidelines governing the use of labels and MSDS

  • Promote safe work through ongoing facility safety program and no lost time injuries related to facility safety issues, equipment, etc.

  • Positioning, Moving, and Restorative Care, Nutrition and Elimination, Comfort Care and End of Life Care

  • Identify patient problems and concerns and report immediately to charge nurse

  • Complete documentation accurately consistent with policies and procedures

  • Assure patients are given adequate assistance with meals

  • Assure completion of assignments timely and accurately

  • Conduct patient rounds as assigned

  • Respect the dignity and privacy of individual patients at all times

  • Assist patients with activities of daily living as documented in the patients’ care plans

  • Assure patients have call lights at hand and answer call lights promptly

  • Understand and utilize the replacement of restorative devices and equipment

  • Present a positive image and accept the need for changes, be flexible and demonstrate enthusiasm toward enhancement
