Manufacturing Project Manager

Position Overview

At Aurora Flight Sciences, we design, build, and fly advanced aircraft and enabling technologies from concept to reality. We are searching for a talented and self-motivated Manufacturing Project Manager to help us create the future of flight. Responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following:

Responsibilities

Manufacturing Technology (MT) Project Manager’s operate within the Manufacturing Sector as part of the multi-disciplinary New Programs and Manufacturing Technology Team. The primary function of the MT Program Manager is to ensure program/project success through Team leadership, resource planning and scheduling, risk analysis/mitigation, and technical oversight. This individual will be expected to work closely with Product Engineering, Quality Assurance, Technicians and Operations Management.

  • Working knowledge of aerospace composite fabrication and assembly processes.

  • Lead prototype and production quote and proposal efforts.

  • Create and own prototype and production program integrated master schedules.

  • Planning, scheduling and prioritizing work to meet established deadline.

  • Maintain, track and drive to on-time completion closure all manufacturing actions items for their program(s).

  • Developing processes and product flows for part manufacture which meet program schedule and budget requirements while meeting aerospace quality requirements.

  • Main point of contact for customers on all manufacturing related subjects.

  • Customer coordination including, but not limited to, new program kick-off, recurring status and technical interchange meetings.

  • Tracking production performance metrics and analysis.

  • Assisting production personnel on the shop floor as needed.

  • Recommending methods for improving utilization of personnel, material, and utilities.

  • Perform limited manufacturing engineering duties on prototype and development programs based on experience and skillset.

    Minimum Requirements

  • Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Bachelor in Industrial/Mechanical/Manufacturing/Aerospace Engineering or related field) and typically 6 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Master+4 years' related work experience, 10 years' related work experience, etc.).

  • Experience with MS Project or other similar scheduling tools.

  • Experience utilizing ERP/MRP planning systems and bill of material interrogation for process planning.

  • Must be a US Person.

    Preferred Requirements

  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the aerospace or composite manufacturing environment.

  • Demonstrated manufacturing program management experience.

  • Demonstrated manufacturing leadership experience.

  • Ability to use software tools to support Manufacturing Engineering: o Microsoft Office Suite o CAD/CAM software.

    Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment and wear proper PPE.

  • Adhere to Boeing regulations for lifting.

  • Work onsite in Bridgeport, WV, Columbus, MS, or Manassas, VA.

  • Must be able to travel to various domestic Boeing/Aurora sites (up to 25% Travel).

    Salary Range (Annualized USD)

  • Minimum Range: $68,000.00 to $120,000.00

  • Maximum Range: $83,000.00 to $148,000.00
