Your Opportunity

Stantec has an immediate need for talented, team focused Bridge Engineer. This position is for an individual who is looking to challenge themselves professionally on a variety of transportation projects. You will have the opportunity to learn, work on exciting and multi-faceted projects, and grow your career. This position is located in either the Charleston, WV or Bridgeport, WV office. We are looking for a Structural Bridge Engineer who excels in working in a team environment and has a passion for the work that they do. The successful candidate will join a growing team of transportation professionals and contribute to the design component of roadway and bridge projects throughout West Virginia.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • The majority of work will include bridge projects for departments of transportation and municipalities in West Virginia and surrounding states

  • Key duties include preparation of plans, specifications and design calculations for DOT and Municipal clients

  • Tasks would include but not be limited to performing site visits, bridge analysis, design and geometry calculations and developing drawings

  • Position also entails preparing engineering reports and technical studies, and assisting on other projects, as needed, including participation in roadway and site civil design activities

Qualifications

Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • Experience with WVDOH required

  • Proficient in Microsoft (MS) Office Suite

  • Prior consulting experience and established client and agency contacts are desirable

  • Strong client interaction and relationship skills with the ability to communicate well

  • Bridge load rating experience preferred

  • A working knowledge of MicroStation is preferred

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering

  • Minimum of 3 years of bridge engineering & design experience required

  • Registered PE in the state of WV or the ability to become licensed within 12 months preferred

Position will primarily work in an office setting; may require some minor field work.
