Job Description

We are looking for a Maintainer III in our Bridgeport Connecticut Plant.

The Maintainer III performs skilled manual work in the operation of medium to heavy duty equipment for construction, repair and maintenance of sewerage and storm water collection systems .

Responsibilities

  • Will operate medium to heavy duty construction equipment including but not limited to jet vactor truck, clam truck, dump truck, backhoe, skid steer and forklift

  • Will operator other construction related equipment including but not limited to road saw, air compressor, jack hammer, tamper, portable pumps, cement mixer, hand, power and hydraulic driven tools.

  • Conducts vehicle pre-trip inspections, handles vehicle refueling, checking all fluids and tire pressures.

  • Maintains housekeeping of vehicles, equipment and tools.

  • This position is labor Intensive.

  • Shift is Monday through Friday, 7:00am to 3:00pm.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Education, Experience And Skills

Education/Experience : High School Diploma or GED and 3-5 years of experience operating medium to heavy duty equipment for construction and maintenance activities.

Licenses/Certifications: Valid Commercial Driver’s License (Class B). Tanker endorsement (N) preferred, Air Brakes Endorsement from state of Connecticut Crane, boom truck and forklift operations. Collection system licenses and/or Sacramento certifications preferred.

Physical Demands

Must be able to: frequently lift 50-60 pounds; load, unload & move large equipment/tools and construction materials access confined spaces, excavations and trenches; continuously walk and climb stairs and ladders.
