Ace Endico Transportation Dispatcher/Router in Brewster, New York

Ace Endico is hiring a Transportation Dispatcher/Router! The primary function of this position includes but is not limited to coordinating and optimizing transportation operations. You will be responsible for dispatching drivers, coordinating routes, and ensuring the smooth and efficient movement of product deliveries. Your excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment will be essential in ensuring timely delivery of goods to our customers.

Essential Duties Include: Dispatching and Scheduling: Receive transportation requests, assign drivers, and schedule routes based on the availability of drivers and delivery requirements. Route Planning and Optimization: Develop efficient and cost-effective transportation routes by considering factors such as traffic conditions, distance, and delivery timelines. Communication and Coordination: Maintain effective communication with drivers, customers, and other stakeholders to provide updates on delivery schedules and resolve any issues or delays. Tracking and Monitoring: Utilize tracking systems to monitor the progress of trucks in real-time, ensuring adherence to schedules and making adjustments as necessary. Problem Solving: You will need to quickly and effectively address any issues that arise during the transportation process, such as traffic delays, truck breakdowns, or changes in delivery schedules. This may involve rerouting vehicles, coordinating alternative transportation options, or resolving customer complaints. Compliance and Safety: Ensure compliance with transportation regulations, company policies, and safety standards to minimize risks and maintain a safe working environment. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of transportation activities, including driver logs, delivery documents, and incident reports. Generate reports to analyze performance metrics and identify areas for improvement. Assist with additional projects as needed. Requirements: Education/Training High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED). Minimum of 2 years related experience required. Job Knowledge and Skills: Must have basic computer skills. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Must be able to read, write and speak English. Can add, subtract, multiply, and divide into all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
