Job Summary and Qualifications

The Transport Advanced Emergency Medical Technician provides safe, high quality, patient-centered care within a state-regulated and program-defined scope of practice. The Transport AEMT will be trained, equipped and willing to deliver care in a mobile environment, as well as function as a member of multi-disciplinary teams within healthcare facilities during the course of patient transports. The Transport AEMT will function clinically under the direction of the program’s Medical Director through Patient Care Guidelines and online medical direction, in compliance with the regulations of the Tennessee Department of Health, Office of EMS. Employee will be accountable to exemplifying excellent service behavior to patients, clients, visitors, physicians, co-workers, vendors; show courtesy, personalized attention, respect, compassion and timely responsiveness to all customers at all times.

What responsibilities you will have:

· Provide safe and effective transportation of patients to and from predetermined locations using all established laws, policies, and procedures set forth by the State of Tennessee Department of Health, Office of EMS

· To provide quality BLS and emergency care to patients requiring procedures in accordance with established Tennessee Department of Health, Office of EMS scope of practice and credentialing.

· Ensures emergency vehicles and equipment are maintained and in a state of readiness at all times.

· Performs daily duties to maintain a clean and organized environment.

· Assumes accountability for promoting consistent, positive patient interactions that advance the agenda of unparalleled patient service.

· Maintains a patient-first philosophy and engages in service recovery when necessary.

· Supports the development and implementation of strategies to elevate the patient experience.

· Exemplifies excellent service behavior to patients, clients, visitors, physicians, co-workers, vendors; show courtesy, personalized attention, respect, compassion and timely responsiveness to all customers at all times.

· Participates in regular drills and special events to assure adequate staffing and training for staff

What qualifications you will need:

  • Basic Life Support - Healthcare Provider (BLS)

  • Prehospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS) or must be obtained within 60 days of employment start date

  • Tennessee Class D Driver's License

  • Tennessee Advanced Emergency Medical Technician (AEMT) license
