Position Summary: Accounting Supervisor

Hire, manage, train, and develop the members of the Nashville CFO Training Program, including, monthly review of financial packages to ensure accurate and on time completion of all financial statements for month-end close. Additionally, this position must oversee the annual completion of budgets and presentations to senior management. Responsibilities include ensuring proper reporting of projections, Tax Packages, special projects, audits, etc. Backing up the Accounting Manager when needed is expected. Other duties as assigned will be required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supervise the accurate and timely completion of month-end close including journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, income statement analysis, Financial Packages, and Tax Packages, and Cost Reports

  • Hire, train, and develop CFO Training Program members including facility visits

  • Oversee the annual budget process including presentations to senior management

  • Ongoing development of the CFO Training Program training classes and materials, as well as coordinate time on-site at UHS facilities for operational training and development

  • Assist the Accounting Manager as needed, including review of Financial Packages, completion of special requests/reports from senior management, and review of Accounts Payable batches

  • Backup Accounting Manager position as needed

  • Assist in the completion of internal and external audits including providing documentation and explanations as required

  • Provide on-going feedback to team members including annual performance reviews

  • Performs other duties as assigned/required by this position.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree Required, MAcc/MBA preferred

  • 5-8 years account experience required

  • CPA Preferred

  • Solid understanding of GAAP

  • Communication (written and verbal) interpersonal

  • Strong analytical and organizational skills

  • Background in Healthcare

  • Leadership skills

  • Solid analytical skills and knowledge of Excel
