BLUE BELL CREAMERIES INC Facilities Maintenance Technician in Brenham, Texas

Blue Bell Creameries has three plants of which manufacture ice cream. We currently have opportunities for aFacilities Maintenance Technicianto join our Snack Section at the Brenham, TX location. The candidates should have great attention to detail, work in a team setting, and enjoy the challenges that a dynamic food manufacturing facility has to offer.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Perform preventative maintenance on plant production equipment, as well as troubleshooting, repairing of equipment and machinery while adhering to all safety rules and regulations. Also, be responsible for performing a combination of tasks including repairing and maintaining pumps, motors, heat exchangers and other mechanical equipment. Be able to work a 45-hour work week. Be willing to work some Saturdays and Holidays. Must be able to work with and learn from others in a team environment. Some work in the cold storage areas will also be required.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Technician Functions

  • Perform scheduled and preventative maintenance of equipment, machinery, valves, piping systems and structures.
  • Maintain documentation and catalogue data for various systems while adhering to safety guidelines.
  • Troubleshoot machine operation, perform equipment maintenance and ensure good housekeeping practices are followed in all shop areas.

REQUIREMENTS AND MINIMUM EDUCATION LEVEL:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 5 years' maintenance experience and/or training is a plus.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills, mechanical aptitude is required, basic math skills are preferred and must know how to read a tape measure.
  • Some basic lubrication / electrical / mechanical / preventive maintenance experience is a plus.
  • Shop tool skills and knowledge such as: Drill press / Bandsaw / Bead Blaster / Hand tools / Shop welding equipment are a plus.
