Safety Representative Requisition ID 2024-12581 Location US-WA-Bremerton Seat Location EB Puget Sound (Bremerton), WA Trade Environmental, Health & Safety Shift 1st, 2nd, 3rd Security Clearance Required Secret Number of Openings 1 Overview This position is for the EB West Maintenance & Modernization Site in Bremerton, WA. Position located in Bremerton, WA. Maintenance and Modernization has an opening for a highly motivated Safety & Training Representative to support delivered ship work at the EB West site. The successful candidate will perform facility, job site, and shipboard hazard analysis, industrial hygiene monitoring, injury investigations, safety inspections, and coordination of site safety/trade training. The successful candidate may also be tasked with development and review of various site safety/training policies. Work requires lifting, pulling, extensive walking, confined space entry, and ladder climbing. The successful candidate will work in accordance with EPA, NFPA, OSHA, WAC, US Navy, and Electric Boat requirements, procedures, and technical manuals. Qualifications Required: High School Diploma / GED A minimum of 1 year of related Safety experience Qualified in, or ability to qualify/maintain, Respiratory Protection Qualified in, or ability to qualify/maintain, Fall Arrest Protection Qualified as, or ability to qualify/maintain as, a Shipyard Preferred: A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering/Sciences Certified Safety Professional (CSP) and/or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) highly desirable Minimum 5 years of experience in military, shipbuilding, and ship repair, or manufacturing industry Fire Safety, EOD, and/or EMS/Paramedic experience OSHA General Industry or Maritime 10hr, 30hr, SCP training/certification OSHA/EPA HAZWOPER certification OSHA/EPA GHS and HAZCOM experience OSHA/NFPA 70E and/or Marine Chemist certification Training experience (MTS cert, OSHA Outreach, AHA Heart Saver Instructor, etc.) Welding, NDT, Electrical, RADCON, and QA experience in maritime environment Qualified in, or ability to qualify/maintain, Lifting & Handling / Industrial Trucks Qualified as, or ability to qualify/maintain as, a Department Environmental Coordinator Qualified to, or ability to qualify/maintain, Radiological Dosimetry (J / R q) Skills Computer skills in Word, Excel, Power Point, PLATEAU, ERS/EWP, MRPii, and Lotus Notes are necessary to successfully perform this assignment Travel to other shipyards in the continental United States and the Far East is required Employee may be required to work other than normal duty hours, to include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays. Shift work and emergency overtime may be required.
