Summary You will serve as a NUCLEAR ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN in the Radiological Emergency Planning Division, Radiological Control Office of PSNS and IMF. Responsibilities You will prepare technical and administrative procedures for Shipyard response to reactor accidents and radiological emergencies. You will work with other Naval Shipyards and facilities involved in radiological emergency response to integrate planning, acquisition, design of instrumentation, data control, communications and public warning systems. You will evaluate Shipyard performance, identifies deficiencies resulting from drills and training exercises and initiates appropriate corrective actions. You will coordinate acquisition, modification and utilization of emergency response facilities and equipment such as emergency control centers and communication systems. You will develop plans to coordinate the Shipyard resources to limit personnel and environmental hazards and to minimize ship and facility damage resulting form a radiological accident. You will perform special projects for the Shipyard and for Naval Sea System Command (NAVSEA) such as preparation of portions of original Navy guidelines for emergency planning. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the next lower grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: GS-12: At least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level integrating technical engineering planning, acquisition, and communications for emergency response preparations for ships or industrial facilities. GS-11: At least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-10 grade level preparing technical engineering and administrative procedures for emergency radiological response plan preparations for ships or industrial facilities.
